    The AWS infrastructure architecture underpinning the solution provided fault tolerance and scalability, with Lambda reading an on-premise queue and updating custom metrics to CloudWatch for continuous, reliable monitoring. With these improvements, the responsibility for collecting and sharing accurate data shifted from people to the application itself, freeing the flight crew to focus on ensuring safer, more enjoyable journeys instead of manually counting numbers. Modernizing the load planning system not only reduced errors, but also gave the airline more time to innovate and eliminated data redundancies that had built up over time.
