The problem was that manual documentation processes across school districts, used to track, store, and retrieve information, were time-consuming and highly prone to errors. Stability and localization requirements needed to be met to support any seasonal demand quickly and effectively, and every school district brought its own complexity: each had a different platform and had chosen its own third-party content providers, spanning a broad range of technology platforms and data formats. The company needed a partner who could engineer a modernized platform for handling and monitoring K-12 students’ data, in accordance with the compliances that needed to be met.
Ascendion partnered with the client to build a platform offered in every Microsoft 365 education tenant as a service, similar to Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint, empowering students and educators to easily adopt and use apps and services without added friction.
Ascendion built a single-point automation platform and customized workflows using Azure Logic App to enhance the legacy data integration platform for K-12 standards. The platform enabled data integration and conversion capabilities, and error sensors and log tracking enabled monitoring with reduced troubleshooting, giving school districts a system that could largely take care of itself.
