A leading online bank had built its wealth management platform to serve some of its most demanding clients -Business management firms, Family offices, and High-net-worth individuals. But the platform carrying that responsibility was 40 years old, and time was catching up with it. What started as a robust multi-ledger, multi-bank system built to handle a high volume of transactions had become increasingly difficult to maintain, weighed down by 100+ levels of approvals, payrolls, and unique scenarios that had accumulated over four decades. The bank knew it needed to modernize, but with that much legacy complexity buried in the system’s architecture, data flow, and business logic, the bank first needed a clear, comprehensive picture of what it was actually working with before it could make confident, strategic decisions about its future.
Ascendion deployed AAVATM to reverse engineer approximately 900,000 lines of code in just 3 weeks, including a full analysis of the platform’s legacy Oracle database spanning 135 entities, 36 triggers, 1,000+ COM files, and 7TB of data.
That deep understanding became the foundation for what came next: using AAVA, Ascendion created 4,200+ user stories to build a 3-year roadmap for modernizing the platform, along with 23 Go-to-Market capabilities mapped to 60 business capabilities for the system’s future architecture. The strategic plan lays out automation, refreshed UI/UX, AI bots built for the bank’s unique use cases, and a distributed microservices architecture spanning 8+ external bank integrations.
